Message to tourists: Welcome to Norway!
Help us to keep Norway free of serious transmissible animal diseases.
The animal health status among domestic animals in Norway, with regard to the serious contagious animal diseases, is better than in most other countries.
We need your help to maintain our good animal health!
Infective micro-organisms can be spread through food, water, footwear, clothes and vehicles, or by people.
Infectious agents may be present in food, without representing a human health hazard. Nevertheless, they can cause diseases in animals.
-
Never feed food scraps to pigs or other animals.
-
Avoid leaving or throwing away food scraps or other scraps into the environment.
-
Please do not visit Norwegian herds the first 48 hours (72 hours if you come fra a country with foot and mouth disease) after arrival to Norway.
-
When visiting herds, always use the farm's own clothing and footwear.
-
Do not bring clothing, footwear or equipment used when visiting herds abroad.
Have a nice vacation in Norway!
