Livestock recording system
The Livestock Recording Systems gathers information from farmers, which is stored in central databases for various purposes.

The Livestock Recording System consists of three different systems:
- The Beef Cattle Recording System (Storfekjøttkontrollen).
- The Sheep Recording System (Sauekontrollen).
- The Pig Recording System (In-Gris).
They all develop and operate central databases and software for systematic documentation and analysis of farm animal production. The software is offered in both a special version for counsellors and a user version for the farmers. The databases may also be used as a “best practice tool” in order to improve performance in the livestock and also in selection of breeding animals.
