Allthough sheeps in Norway usually spend their summer in a clean and fresh environment, diseases are present and preventive actions are taken. |
The Sheep Health Service offers surveillance, counselling, teaching, training and research. The service is a joint venture with the Norwegian Sheep and Goat Breeders Association, Gilde Norsk Kjøtt and the National Meat Producers Association.
The Sheep Health Service informs and advises producers, local health advisors and veterinarians to improve their competence in preventive medicine. The Sheep Health Records generate sheep disease statistics on a local, regional and national level.
